About The Newsletter
Independent Analysis from Japan. An International Perspective.
The Indo-Pacific Dispatch is an independent publication examining how developments in Japan, the Indo-Pacific, and the Middle East shape one another—and what those connections mean for security, diplomacy, and national sovereignty.
Founded in February 2026 by Hannah Klein, a Japan-based geopolitical analyst, journalist, author, and podcaster, the publication combines original commentary, expert contributions, and extended interviews. Hannah draws on her bilingual background and master’s degree in Political Science to connect Japanese political debates with the international questions behind them.
Coverage explores foreign policy, defense, economic security, strategic competition, and democratic resilience. The emphasis is on explaining the interests, decisions, and consequences behind events, giving readers the context to form their own informed judgments.
Contributors include Dr. Gershon Kogan, a specialist in Persian studies, whose expertise adds depth to the publication’s examination of Iran and the Middle East.
Hannah Klein’s Time: Indo-Pacific Dispatch
The publication’s podcast brings diplomacy, political ideas, and cultural exchange into conversation.
Through in-depth discussions with ambassadors, scholars, policy specialists, authors, and cultural figures, Hannah Klein’s Time: Indo-Pacific Dispatch explores both international affairs and the people whose experiences illuminate them. Episodes range from regional security and foreign policy to history, identity, and the role of culture in building relationships across borders.
The extended interview format gives guests room to explain their reasoning, share their experiences, and explore questions that a brief news appearance rarely allows.
